Thanksgiving Weekend

Hello! I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! We had some snow earlier in the week and Harry had been itching to play in it so early Thursday afternoon we brought out the snow pants and headed outside.

There wasn't much snow and it was too powdery to build anything with it, but Harry had fun rolling and crawling around in it. This is the third year for those snow pants! Too big the first year, just right last year, and verging on too small now. I'd say we definitely got our money's worth out of them :).

After spending some time outside, I headed to the kitchen and spent the rest of the afternoon making a small Thanksgiving dinner for the 3 of us.

Doesn't that turkey look ahhh-mazing?!?! It took a long time to cook, but it was totally worth all the hard work. Haha, J/K! We bought the turkey pre-sliced from Honey Baked Ham. We kind of accidentally reserved one, but it turned out for the best. It was delicious! I made everything else (aside from the pie) by myself though.

Harry loved Thanksgiving dinner! Such a surprise. We gave him a bit of everything, thinking he'd only eat the turkey and cornbread. He tried the stuffing all on his own, and after a little encouragement he tried the potatoes and green beans. He only ate a bite of the potatoes, but finished his serving of green beans, he loved them! And of course he had no trouble eating a small slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. He also loved the sparkling grape juice. We gave him a small cup on New Year's Eve and he didn't seem to like it, but he kept asking for more on Thursday (we gave him less than half a cup). Harry calls it "sparkly juice."

Friday we thought about going to Target, but didn't want to deal with the crowds. Their Black Friday deals weren't as good as last year, much to our dismay. We did end up doing quite a bit of online shopping and scored some major deals. After Harry's nap we decorated our new Christmas tree.

Oh, this tree... I got it last year to replace our old one (which was way passed it's prime, we had to use a book to keep it upright!) the day after Christmas. It was cheap, but looked okay from the picture on the box. It's so freaking skinny! At 4 feet tall, the old tree took 2 strands of lights, so I bought 3 new ones last year to cover this 6 foot tall tree. We barely needed 2. And not all of our ornaments fit on it.

But, it's our tree, and will be a funny story to tell in a few years. Harry was very good at decorating this year and had a blast with it. We drank hot chocolate's while we worked. Here are the new ornaments we picked out this year.

Saturday we went over to my dad's for a second Turkey Day dinner. This go-round Harry was all about the corn and cranberry sauce. I didn't take any pictures, but we had fun. Their dogs just love Harry and Harry loves them.

Now only 24 days until Christmas!!
