I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day! Even though this was my third Mother's Day, it's still surreal sometimes that I get to be someone's mom. I don't take it for granted and cherish (almost) every moment.
Friday Harry had a checkup at the doctor's (more on that later this week). After the appointment we drove over to Home Depot to pick up some flowers for our patio. We had promised Harry we'd go to a restaurant if he was good at the doctor's, so we found a Chili's near the HD and ate there. They have a new $35 for 2 deal going on, so we chose that and made it work for the 3 of us. You get an appetizer, 2 entrees, a dessert and 2 margaritas. Yum! Between the appetizer, entrees and drinks we were stuffed, so we brought the molten cake home and enjoyed it before bed.
Crazy story of the weekend: Saturday I slept late and sometime after 10am I heard our buzzer ring. I popped out of bed figuring it was a package delivery. Nope. A Jehovah's Witness. Ugh. We have a very clear "no soliciting" sign in our lobby (I don't have anything against Jehovah's Witnesses, just people that can't respect signs)! Then I went back to bed to get Harry. We've slept that late together a few times, so I wasn't concerned he hadn't woken me up earlier. Well, he wasn't in the bed. I was confused, so I went into his bedroom to see if he was playing in there. Nope. I looked in his closet and the bathroom. Nothing. At this point I was freaking out and calling his name over and over. I was just about to check the living room (we have a baby gate separating the bedrooms from the living room but thought maybe he had gotten over it somehow?) when I realized it was, in fact, Saturday. After that realization I assumed Ant had taken Harry out to run an errand. But, gosh, for a minute there I was really freaking out!
They got home not long after that. And after lunch they dropped me off at Hobby Lobby for an hour while they went over to the mall. We ate dinner at home and then went out for frozen yogurt at Menchie's. Delish!
Sunday I was awoken with some breakfast in bed. Freaking TACO BELL BREAKFAST IN BED. Amazing!
They got me so much, I only eat the crunch wrap, which was amazing and I want it every day. I love the little dandelions Harry picked for me, too! The boys also gave me some lovely gifts. A cute stuffed frog from Harry, and a necklace and fancy sunglasses from Ant.
I feel so blessed! The only other thing I wanted was a nice picture of me and Harry.
Ha! And I have a bunch more just like those. Whenever Harry is outside he just wants to run and play.
Eventually we got a decent one.
Harry looks a lot like Ant as a kid in that picture! I usually think he's my spitting image.
In the afternoon Ant put Harry down for a nap and I worked outside on my flower pots.
I'm hoping the flowers will spread and fill out the pots nicely.
It stormed the rest of the evening so we just hung out at home. All in all it was a very nice Mother's Day!
