Simple Yarn Craft

Last year I bought a cute wrought iron container for my kitchen utensils. We don't have a lot of drawer space and I love having them right next to the stove. But, this thing wasn't without it's issues.

Having handles hanging out of the container drove the ever loving crap out of me! If the brim was just an inch taller the utensils wouldn't fall out of it all the time. Yarn to the rescue!

A few nights ago I went to the store and picked up a scein of yellow yarn and wrapped the yarn around the container, weaving it around the metal posts. It took a few hours, but here's the finished result.

I was expecting this project to be a failure, but I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Functional and it adds a pop of color to an otherwise bland corner of our kitchen. I'm going to try and make a pencil cup to match, too.
