Sippy Cup Success

Harry has finally mastered the art of the sippy cup! It has been a long process getting him to take it but he finally is.

He was pretty proud of himself!

The secret to getting him to drink from it? Ice! I added two ice cubes to the water and he suddenly couldn't get enough. He's always liked touching cold pop cans and eating cold yogurt so I figured he would enjoy cold water, too. We have about two months until he should be off bottles so I'm glad we're finally making some progress.

Look what else he can do....

It's kind of a crappy picture, but he is standing without support now. He's been doing it for about a week or so on and off. He'll do it for about ten seconds at a time. He hasn't taken any steps yet, but I would just be over the moon if he were to do it before he turns ten months old in a week. Wishful thinking probably, but he will be walking soon.

Remember a few months ago when the little kid upstairs was throwing stuff off his balcony? Well, the family is moving now and yesterday the parents took the little kid's advice and also started throwing stuff off their balcony.

It was really weird. But a lot faster than taking their stuff down two flights of stairs.

  1. Oh my gosh! LOL... they threw a mattress over the balcony? Seems a little dangerous.

And yay for Harry almost walking!

  2. I will have to try ice in the sippy! We use the same cup and N hasn't quite taken to it.

  3. What kind of cup is it? My daughter is 8 months and we are working on the sippy cup, but I like the idea of her getting used to a straw.

    He's a cutie.

    1. Thank you! It's a Playtex cup. We bought them at Target I think.

  4. Yay! Go Harry!

My in-laws have a really old house with a really narrow staircase; whenever they have to move a bed up to or down from the second floor, they have to take out the window and haul it up/down with a rope. It's pretty comical. When we had a balcony at our old apartment, I never considered throwing things off the balcony...it could have saved some time...

    1. We live on the first floor but I never would have thought about doing it either. I swear they got the idea from their kid who was doing it a few months ago.
