Outside the tent there was a small pumpkin patch, pony rides and an adorable little petting zoo. Harry was still groggy from his nap so he wasn't as excited about the horses, goats and llama as I thought he would be.
We spent about 15 minutes outside before heading in to the Oktoberfest tent.
Inside we sat down at a table and a waiter came up and took our order. The waiters and waitresses helped enhance the atmosphere by wearing traditional German outfits. We ordered beer, an HB Oktoberfest for me and a Weihenstephan Hefe Weiss for Ant, along with a pretzel and potato salad to share.
|Excuse the terrible manicure|
Both of the beers were delicious and the potato salad was out of this world! It was served warm and had a little bacon in it. Ant and I usually don't eat red meat, but since the menu didn't say what was in it, we ate the salad anyways. I need to look up a German potato salad recipe and make some myself. After we finished our food we walked around enjoyed the festival. There was a polka band and even some German dancers.
It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! When we were done with the festival we stopped at Ulta and JoAnns for a few things. Ulta didn't have what I needed but I picked up another half yard of the green fleece to finish up Harry's crib rail cover. We also bought some fall-themed yard stakes to put next to our patio.
Something very special was waiting for
That, ladies and gents, is the elusive Tots Bots London diaper! My friend Michelle tipped me off that they were back in stock at Nicki's Diapers so I snagged one up. Thanks, Michelle!
