Baby's First Pickle

Today Harry is 36 weeks and 2 days old. Harry was born at 36 weeks and 2 days. It's crazy to think that he's now been outside my tummy longer than he was inside! Well, tomorrow I guess is when he will have been outside longer. Today is also the one year anniversary of finding out that Harry was a boy!

Baby's First Pickle
Yesterday for lunch I got a sandwich from a local deli. It was wrapped with a pickle so I thought it'd be funny to give it to Harry. He's never eaten anything besides rice puffy things outside of his mesh feeders so I wasn't quite sure how he'd handle it. I honestly thought he'd get a taste and hate it. Pickles have a very strong flavor that I didn't think would appeal to babies. I bet you know what happened!

They are hands down, his favorite food to date. He wasn't able to bite off the skin so a few times I took the pickle and bit it off for him so it'd be easier to eat. Kiddo had a total meltdown every time! I think part of it was he just loved feeding himself, but it was obvious he really liked the taste, too. Remind me to put a jar of pickles on our shopping list :)

What makes the pickles even funnier is that they are hands down, Ant's least favorite food ever. As in, he can't even touch a pickle without gagging. Seriously. He wasn't too happy that I even gave one to Harry in the first place. Oops. I like them, but I don't go out of my way to eat them usually.

No swimming for us this morning. Ant wants to go look for some new tennis shoes. Not sure if I'm going to go or stay home and work on stuff around here. Or take a nap. I'm going out tonight with a few girlfriends so I think a nap will do me good. Although I must admit Harry and I have been taking short naps together after his morning bottle recently. Not every day, just occasionally.

One more thing, I've been working on a cloth diaper accessories post that I had planned for today. Then the whole pickle thing happened and the pictures I took were just too cute not to post, so look for that later this week.

  1. Hi Lindsey! I've been away from commenting on blogs for so long due to my wedding, but I did check back here once in a while to check on cutie Harry! Haha, how cute that he loved the pickle!!! Before scrolling down, I thought the next picture was going to be of Harry making that sour face!

    1. Hey Rachel! I commented on one of your other recent comments but I seemed to have missed this one. Hope you are enjoying married life!!

  2. Oh my - this is the cutest little pickle eater ever! Look at that cheeky grin :)

  3. Great photos. I found you through Crazy Mama's fun blog hop. I linked in a post about my travel bucket list. Have a super week.

Ps As I am commenting on things this week I am reminding people that if you turn off your word verification stuff people will find it much easier to comment on your posts. Give it a go!

To help you here is how you do it:
You need to go to the old Blogger interface - on your dashboard look up to top right, click the little wheel and it will give you the old interface as an option. Click that. You will see a big blue button - don't click that - click the one 3 along to the right - settings.

Then click the comments tab - scroll down to the question "Show word verification for comments?" and click no.
That will sort it. But you do have to click the yellow save settings button at the bottom.

To go back to the new interface just click the blue " try the updated blogger interface" at the top next to your email address.

There - that's my good deed for the day! Hope you didn't mind me hassling you like this!

    1. Thanks for the tip! I thought I had already done that, but it looks like I might not have. I agree that it's super annoying :). Also, you don't have to do it in the old interface, the new one offers this option too. Thanks for the comment!
