Labor and Delivery... Round Two!

Happy Halloween everyone! Little man decided to play a nice little trick on me today and sent me back to labor and delivery! I'll be here until at least tomorrow afternoon following my third 24 hour urinalysis.

So, this morning we had our routine weekly visit at my OB's office. My blood pressure registered at 160/110 for three straight readings (140/90 is about as high as they want it to go), so off to labor and delivery I went!

The high risk doctor came in this evening and said that just increasing the dose of my blood pressure medicine probably won't really help my problem at this point, and I could very well deliver my son as early as TOMORROW. Yes, tomorrow! They'll make a decision after the results come back from my urinalysis.

If I were to deliver tomorrow, his prognosis would be good, but obviously the situation wouldn't be ideal, as he won't be considered full term until November 12. Most likely little man would have to spend some time in the NICU as a precaution, but nothing major (fingers crossed!).

So, right now we wait. I will try and update, however brief, as soon as I know more!

Ultrasounds and Booze

So as you guys know we had our free ultrasound at the community college today. It was so fun! Seven or eight students got to give me an ultrasound, so we saw little man for well over an hour! Each of the students (who have only been in the program since August) had to correctly place the transducer for a head, abdomen and femur measurement. He was moving around quite a bit and made some students work harder than others on getting all the right pictures!

After the students finished their exams one of the instructors took over and tried to get us a few pictures. Per usual, he wasn't super cooperative, but we were able to get one face shot of him and actually got to see him put his hand in his mouth on the screen! Can you say cutest thing ever!?! We'll scan all the ultrasound pictures from this week tonight and I'll share them soon.

Stockin' Up on Booze

After we were done with the ultrasound we decided to stop at Trader Joe's, which was on the way home. There's a Binny's Beverage Depot in the same parking lot at TJ's so I suggested we stop in there first, just for fun. I have been wanting to buy alcohol with a big pregnant belly! Obviously, I won't be drinking any of it until after I deliver, but I thought it would be fun :).

Ant and I went to college in Columbia, Missouri. A semi-local favorite there is a beer called Boulevard Wheat, from a brewery out of Kansas City. You can buy it everywhere and all the bars have it on tap. It's usually served with a slice of lemon and is oh-so-delish! Recently we were talking about Boulevard and checked their website to see if we could buy it in our area. According to their website there are a few liquor stores in Chicago that sell it, but nothing in the suburbs.

So imagine our surprise when we saw this on the shelf!

Yep, apparently Binny's has Boulevard! We of course picked up a six-pack. I told Ant that he just needs to save one for me for after the baby comes. Here's everything else we bought.

I've never heard of Bree wines before, but I like the bottle, and I like riesling, so hopefully that works out. I have been wanting to try Skinnygirl Cocktails and thought the Sangria sounded like the best of the bunch! Although both the Margarita and Cosmo look good, too. The other beer we got was from another local brewery, 3Floyds out of Munster, Indiana. Ant knows a few people who've recommended it, so he picked up the Dreadnaught ale to try.

Soooo who wants to babysit so we can have a booze filled night without acting like totally irresponsible parents? :)

35 weeks down.
35 days to go!

Well, it's more like 30 days to go until the tentative induction on November 28th. So, we have a month, at most, until we meet little man!

Here is this week's belly shot.

34 weeks 6 days

Yesterday was a busy one! Ant and I first went to our realtor's office to sign next year's lease, yay! Then we had our prenatal meet-and-greet with a local pediatrician. He was alright, but we'd like to meet one or two more before we make our final decision.

Our meeting with the pediatrician only took about 15 minutes and then Ant and I went to the Olive Garden for dinner. We had a gift card so dinner cost us about $7! After filling our bellies we went to JC Penny because they were having a good sale on their baby stuff. We got a few outfits and some swaddle blankets. I'll try and remember to show everything in my upcoming 35 week vlog.

When we were done at Penny's we ran over to Ulta so I could pick up a few things with the 20% off coupon I had.

I went mainly to get the Bare Minerals, I've been using the brand since high school, it really is the best! I'm just about out of my bronzer so I needed to get a new one. I've also been using the L'Oreal Infallible lip gloss for a few years now. I like how it lasts for a long time without flaking off, like many other long wear lip glosses. And what can I say about the Archipelago Botanicals Soy Creme Milk? A former coworker of mine introduced me to this uber luxurious hand cream and I needed to stock up before the cold winter weather hits Chicago!

Ant bought me the DKNY perfume. He actually bought me a full bottle of Delicious for our six month anniversary back in 2006. That bottle is long gone so when he saw this mini spray at the store he offered to get it for me. Who am I to turn down a present?

When we got home we cleaned our bathroom and I ironed the valances we're hanging in the nursery. We got the drill from my dad so we'll be putting up the curtain rod this weekend.

And now we're off to our free ultrasound at the community college. So excited to see little man one last time before he makes his appearance!

Last MFM Appointment

Today I tried my hand at my fourth, and last recipe for the week! I don't think I've cooked four straight meals in a row since getting married. We'll do microwave meals or sandwiches at least once a week. And I don't know if I can really count yesterday's frozen pizza, but the side dish was from a cookbook!

This afternoon I started on some smoky turkey chili, which I've made a few times before. I did tweak the recipe slightly this time, though. I added some celery and mushrooms to the veggie mix, sprinkled in a bit of cayenne pepper and cut down on the amount of instant espresso powder.

The changes made for a tasty dinner, I'll have to jot them down in the cookbook for next time. This recipe yields quite a bit of chili so we have a lot to freeze.

I think I'll probably go through the cookbook again this weekend to see what I can't make from it next week!

Last MFM Appointment
Today we had our last appointment with maternal fetal medicine. I suppose there is a chance we might be back, but we didn't schedule anything. It's always fun seeing our little guy on the ultrasound machine. However, it was not fun to see that his head is measuring over 37 weeks... Yikes! Over all he is measuring at 35 weeks and 3 days, so just 5 days ahead of schedule, but dang, he's got a big noggin!

Everything looked great at the appointment, and not so little guy weighs in at nearly 6 pounds already! Fluid levels were perfect and my blood pressure was good (she didn't say exactly what it was though). We even got a few profile pictures this time! They're not the greatest, but at least it's something.

So, we decided to go ahead and get the free ultrasound on Saturday. I'm super excited about it! Because it's for a class I'm hoping that they'll spend a lot of time going over everything and that we get tons of great pictures. Not sure if the college has a 3D ultrasound or not, but I'm hoping they do!

And just for fun, here is Pearl in her new favorite hang out spot.

Ant kind of makes a hammock with the blanket and she'll stay in it forever :).

Extra Ultrasound?

Tonight for dinner I made the garlic broccoli from the Weight Watchers cookbook along with that Home Run Inn pizza from our freezer. Both turned out really well!

Nearly all veggies are zero WW points, but since I sauteed the broccoli in a bit of EVOO a serving is one point. This was actually my first time making fresh broccoli! I usually stick to the frozen stuff, which has a much different taste than what I cooked tonight.

Extra Ultrasound
Back in July I found out about a program through our local community college that offers free ultrasounds to pregnant women as part of their ultrasound tech training program. As soon as I found out about the program I called to try and sign up. I never heard back from anyone, and then I became high risk and have had two extra ultrasounds with MFM.

Tomorrow morning we actually have our third ultrasound with MFM. I'm betting this will be the last time we have to go see the high risk doctor since my tentative induction date is just a month and two days away (can you say crazy!?!?). And then today I actually got a call from a lady at the community college asking if I wanted to come in on Saturday for the free ultrasound! I had completely forgotten about the program until I heard her message.

I'm all for seeing little guy twice in one week, but admittedly I'm a little nervous doing two ultrasounds so close together. I know plenty of people get them much more frequently than I have without any problems, so I don't know how rational my fear is. I discussed it with the hubby and we decided that if we get some good pictures tomorrow with MFM we won't go in on Saturday, and if we don't, we will.

I also wonder how good of pictures we could possibly get at this point, even if little guy cooperates and lets us see his face. At nearly 35 weeks I doubt he's got much room in there so he's probably all smooshed!

Either way, hopefully I'll have some updated pictures to post in the next few days.

Grilled Lemon Chicken

Back in January I first tried my hand at a lemon herb chicken. I got the first recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook and tonight I tried the version from the Weight Watchers cookbook. Both recipes were good, but I like how the WW one was a lot less complicated, and took a lot less time to prepare!

The recipe said to use an actual grill to cook the chicken, but I used our broiler since we don't have a grill. I broiled the breasts for about five minutes on each side, and they were done! Since the chicken was so healthy (just four WW points per breast), I thought it would be fine to pair it with something not so healthy.

Paula Deen's red potatoes! We found these at Target the other day. To prepare them all you have to do is microwave the bag for five minutes, super simple! They turned out alright, I prefer the ones by Green Giant though (which I've only ever seen at Meijer).

Since this week has unintentionally become Food Week here on TAW, I'm thinking tomorrow night I'll just do a frozen pizza (there is a Home Run Inn pizza in my freezer screaming my name!) along with the garlic broccoli from the WW cookbook.

Disclaimer: I am not currently following the Weight Watchers program. Being 34 weeks pregnant I realize it is important to adequately fuel my body for my growing baby. However, after gaining a disgusting amount of weight last week I am trying to make better food choices, and the WW cookbook offers many healthy options that can benefit any lifestyle.

34 Week Vlog

Here is my 34 week pregnancy vlog.

I completely forgot to mention that I am still on my normal sleep schedule! I think we're approaching two weeks now! Last night I didn't get to sleep until about 2am, but was able to sleep until about 10am this morning, so that was nice.

And here is a baby buys video I recorded this past Friday, but just forgot to upload it.

I'm currently working on the grilled lemon chicken recipe I talked about in yesterday's post, so I'll probably review it later on this evening, so keep an eye out for that!

My First Freezer Meal

Today I started making freezer meals for when little man makes his appearance. And I must say, today's attempt was a rousing success! After our doctor's appointment today Ant and I went grocery shopping and got ingredients for four different recipes from the Weight Watchers cookbook: chicken and black bean chili, broccoli with garlic, smoky turkey chili and grilled lemon chicken.

The broccoli and lemon chicken are just for dinner this week, but both chilies are for freezing. Tonight I tried my hand at the chicken and black bean chili.

The original recipe doesn't call for any celery, but I thought it would be a nice addition, so I chopped up four stalks and added it to the mix. I also decided to only add one red bell pepper since I'm not the biggest fan of the vegetable.

The chili cooked up pretty fast and we had dinner ready in about an hour.

Nom nom nom...
It turned out great, I highly recommend this recipe! I wish it yielded a bit more chili, though. Ant and I each ate one bowl for dinner and we probably only have two or three more servings to freeze. I will definitely be making more of this chili, and will probably alter the smoky turkey chili recipe a bit to mimic the flavor of this one. And for those of you interested, the chili is worth seven Weight Watchers points per serving.

And thank you everyone for your kind words on our maternity photo shoot! We used my Canon G10 camera and I edited the photos in PhotoShop and used the filters on

DIY Maternity Photo Shoot

Edit: Check out this post for some great DIY maternity photo shoot tips!

Today, at 34 weeks exactly, Ant and I went to a local forest preserve and took some maternity pictures. Here are the results!

Not too bad for doing it ourselves, right? We took a couple featuring little guy's name, I'll try to remember to post those once he's here. We had a lot of fun doing it and can't wait to do some DIY photo shoots with our son!

Melissa... I hope you don't mind that we stole your idea to use the chalkboard :).

Nursery Sneak Peak

Here is this week's belly shot!

33 weeks 6 days

Along with a quick peak at part of the nursery :). The crib is just on the other side of the floor lamp, and little man's name is hung up there, so you won't see that until he's born! I'm going to try and get those pink drawers in to the closet before he gets here. They hold a bunch of my scrapbooking/crafting stuff.

This morning Ant and I hit up Once Upon a Child again. Today the store was offering 25% off all regular merchandise, plus when we got there, we found a bunch of stuff that was already marked down 50%! We got quite a bit of stuff for around $35. We also went to the Salvation Army, but weren't nearly as successful, only finding two onesies to take home with us.

Tonight we're planning on going out to dinner and working through more of the to-do list. We are making pretty good headway with it, but keep finding things to add to it! This weekend's list includes oil changes for both of our cars, lots of laundry and starting on freezer meals.

Okay, I'm going to film a baby buys video (I've got tons of stuff to share!), so look for that to be posted soon.

33 Week Vlog

Here is this week's video.

There are 45 days left until my due date... and 40 days until my induction date (if I did the math correctly)! Crazy! This morning Ant and I got all the rest of little man's clothes ready to be washed. Most of his stuff still had the tags on it.

We also sat down for a good half hour discussing middle names. I still don't know if we've stumbled across the one, so I'm sure many more discussions are in store for us. While we mutually decided not to name our children after anyone, I'd still like at least part of his name to hold some sort of significance to us. For instance, one of the contenders is from a character in the first movie we ever watched together, and another is the name of the musician from the first CD Ant ever burned for me (this musician also acted as Ant's personal ringtone for a good year and a half).

There is one name I love that would be kind of a tribute to where we met, but pairing it with his first name would be a terrible idea, so unfortunately, that one is out of the running. Blerg, this kid just might not get a middle name at this point!

Any other ideas as to where we might find some inspiration for a great middle name?

My New Ride

What do you guys think? It's definitely an eye-catcher! And ohhhh so practical with a baby on the way.

Obviously we didn't buy a Bentley, but we did have one parked in our parking lot all Sunday afternoon. I can't imagine it was any of the resident's in our condo building, so it must have belonged to a guest.

I didn't make my 33 week vlog last night because I was too tired. Hopefully I'll have enough energy tonight after our hospital tour to do an update, I've got quite a few things to talk about, including my first NST!

Canceled Due to High Winds

I mentioned earlier this week how Ant and I were going to go on a riverboat tour of the Fox River. After working around the house for a bit yesterday morning we got ready to go.

The boat is docked in St. Charles, which is about a 40 minute drive from our house. We left with plenty of time to find something to eat before the tour began at two o'clock. After arriving in St. Charles we drove around a bit before finding Gabby's Kitchen. The food was decent and we made it to the dock around 1:45.

When we got to the dock we were surprised to find the parking lot relatively empty. We had figured since this was the last weekend of the season the boat ride would have been pretty packed. We got out of the car to try and find someone to talk to. No such luck there... but we eventually did see the sign. The extremely small handwritten sign that said "boat rides canceled due to high winds." WHAT!?!?!?!

The abandoned ship

This is what disappointment looks like

I mean, there was a lot of wind yesterday, but didn't these people realize we drove all the way there just for the boat tour? No? Well they should have. I suppose we could have tried to go today, but we had other plans. Like putting up all the wall decorations in the nursery! I think the only thing left to hang is the curtain rod, which won't happen until next week because I need to borrow a drill from my dad. We also cleaned out our kitchen cabinets and cleaned our sliding glass doors.

I'm now off to get a free haircut at Ulta (with a $10 donation to breast cancer research!!) and will do some crafting when I get home, I've got about five different projects I can work on!

Sweetest Day

Happy Sweetest Day, everyone! I actually forgot about this made-up holiday this year, oops! I guess I have to pay for lunch today!

Ant got confused with the days and showed up with these after work yesterday.

Apparently he and the owners of Roselle Flowers are on a first name basis now, haha! Aren't they pretty? I just love that purple Gerber daisy in the bouquet! Along with the flowers he also got me a $50 gift card to Starbucks.

Starbucks has been my vice the past few weeks. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I love their chai tea lattes! If I wasn't limiting my daily caffeine intake I could seriously drink five a day.

Okay, off to seize the day! Not only did I get a great night's sleep last night, but my back isn't hurting too bad this morning. Thank goodness too, since we've got a lot to do today!

Ohhhh Happy Sleep!

Here is my 32 week bump picture.

32 weeks 6 days

Please excuse those messy counter tops! Last night for dinner Ant and I hit up Steak n' Shake. I hadn't been there in forever. I love their french fries, although I couldn't eat them all because of that low sodium diet I'm supposed to be following (it's freaking hard!). After dinner we went to Buy Buy Baby for some baby essentials like gripe water, baby Orajel, and some Toy Story band-aids. We also picked up a travel wipes case for Ant's diaper bag, some bath toys and a cute t-shirt with guitars on it.

Oh, and this is what kept me occupied yesterday afternoon.

I found these little wooden shapes at JoAnns and thought they would look great in the nursery! They're not perfect, but I'm pleased with how they turned out. They're going to go on the wall right when you walk in the room, where this sign currently hangs.

A Good Night's Sleep

I've made it pretty clear how little sleep and I have gotten along this pregnancy. The past couple weeks I've gotten on an okay sleep schedule where I essentially take two naps a day. Because I was painting the shapes yesterday I skipped my afternoon nap and by 10pm I was exhausted. I had wanted to try and stay up until at least 2am, but that wasn't happening. I was out like a light by 10:15. And I didn't wake up until nearly 7am (save for a couple bathroom trips)!!!!!! That's nearly nine solid hours of sleep, all at one time!

It's around 8am now and I feel so refreshed. It's amazing what some good sleep will do for a person. I just hope I'm not jinxing myself by writing about how amazing it was, hopefully I can stay on this schedule for at least a couple weeks.

Gotta Have My Pops

I'm just going to say it... I'm sick of being pregnant. Sickofit. My back has never hurt so much. I realized a few weeks ago I can't sit Indian style on the floor (don't worry, I'm like 1/47 Native American, so it's not offensive) without my back hurting for hours. And yesterday afternoon I figured out I can't sit at my dining room table, even with two pillows on the chair! Le sigh...

National Popcorn Month

On a completely non-pregnancy note, did you know that October is National Popcorn Month? The local NBC station did a piece on this monumental event yesterday and I decided I needed some Garrett's! And guess what? I got some!!

If you're not familiar, Garrett's is this amazing popcorn shop in Chicago. I love both their caramel and cheese flavors, I really can't decide which one I like most!

Okay, time to paint my nails. No idea what color they'll end up this time, I'm wearing a purple shirt so maybe that will act as my inspiration!

Car Seat Safety

Last night we took our car seat safety class at the hospital. It was free, so why not, right? Like the Baby Basics class, we figured there would be quite a few parents attending. Wrong again! This time there were only three couples, including us. We recognized one of the couples from the Baby Basics class, so at least we're not the only soon-to-be parents in our area getting prepared!

Most of the stuff we already knew, but it was good to get a little refresher. The most beneficial part of the class was when we got to put a baby doll in our car seat. With so many straps and buckles those things are complicated! I don't think I would have figured out how to tighten the straps on my own... whoops!

Glad we can check that off the to-do list. We'll probably put the car seat in my car sometime around the first week of November. We'll also take it to the police station that week for the inspection. One thing the instructor pointed out was that recently she was involved with a car seat inspection with 40 car seats. All 40 were improperly installed! So even if you think you've put it in correctly, it really doesn't hurt to take it in just to be sure. It is your child we're talking about!

Graco SnugRide infant car seat and base

This morning we finished up watching our online birth class. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I really like the free class from Baby Center! It was well worth our time, and we'll probably re-watch a few chapters closer to little man's arrival.

Tomorrow's to-do list includes going to the hardware store to figure out how to hang up the embroidery hoop art I made without poking 12 holes in the wall... wish us luck on that! We also want to mount the letters of his name on some sort of plaque to hang over the crib, so hopefully we will find one that'll work.

Oh... and this weekend we're going on a riverboat tour! I bought tickets through Groupon for the St. Charles Paddlewheel Riverboat tour back in July for Ant's birthday and this is the last weekend we can use them. I went on this tour when I was about 10 years old and remember enjoying it, hopefully I'll like it just as much the second time around!

32 Week Vlog

Here's my 32 week pregnancy vlog.

I didn't talk about it in the video, but yesterday I actually tried to do some research on the Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag I love. First I went to A Pea in the Pod, which according to the PPB website, sells them. I guess. They had three. Not three different styles, but literally three bags, all the same style. They were the boxy backpack style, which I'm not crazy about.

So then I drove over to Nordstrom. Oh how I love Nordstrom, and lucky me, I walked in right by the shoe department :). If I didn't have foot problems I would have looked around more, but knowing I can't wear any of the cute styles I didn't tempt myself. So off I went to the children's department to see the PPB bags. Same story as the first store! Blerg!

So, I think I'll go ahead and order the one I want sight unseen. I can always return it if it's not what I want.

Tonight we have our car seat safety class at the hospital, another thing to check off the to-do list!

The Hardest Decision

So far, when it has come to baby gear, I've been pretty decisive. I found our nursery furniture online, and knew it was the set for us right away. I did a bit of research on our travel system but was able to make the decision on which one I wanted fairly quickly. However, there has been one baby item that I've been agonizing over... the diaper bag!

I've had it narrowed down to two for a while, but I just can't seem to make up my mind. The two contenders are Coach and Petunia Pickle Bottom. In last week's vlog I said how I was pretty set on getting a Coach bag. This is the one I loved at the Coach store.

Isn't it just beautiful? I think I would prefer it in black, but the grey is nice, too. Some pluses about this bag? Well, as I just said, it's a gorgeous bag, and everyone knows the quality of Coach's craftsmanship. The bag is versatile and can be worn either on the shoulder or across the body. And there are tons of different pockets inside to stay as organized as possible. The negatives? The price, this particular model costs over $350, which is kind of silly when you think of all the messes and accidents that could potentially end up on or in the bag. And probably the biggest downfall is the sheer size of this bag. It's freaking huge! Big bags are great, but even as someone who loves big purses, I have a feeling that this bag could get too heavy with all the crap I could potentially stuff inside. Because it's so big I'm not sure if it would even fit in the basket part of our stroller.

Here is the Petunia Pickle Bottom bag I'm looking at.

This is the Touring Tote in the Evening in Innsbruck pattern. Not having seen this bag in person yet, the positives I've come up with are all just based on internet research. I was actually able to find this review on the bag, which does a good job describing this particular model. So, from what I've seen, this option is a good one! Compared to the Coach bag, the PPB is cheap... less than $150! I am also loving the three different carrying options, the two shown above, plus it easily attaches to your stroller.

Neat, right? The size of this bag could be a positive or negative, I'll have to see it in person to be sure. It definitely is smaller than the Coach bag, but looks like it still has quite a few different pockets for organization. It doesn't look too small and with just one kid should hold everything we'll need. Another potential negative could be the quality of the bag. Never even hearing of PPB until becoming pregnant, I'm not sure how well the bags are made.

So, I still have a decision to make. At this point I'm thinking that the PPB is the way to go. I'm just loving how the bag can attach right to the stroller! On the other hand, my other option is a freaking Coach bag, who wouldn't want one of those? Uggh, I know I'm over thinking this. I'll let you all know what I end up going with!

I'd love to hear which diaper bag you guys think I should go with!

The Dark Side of the Bed

I've always been extremely loyal to my side of the bed. Even before it was "our" bed, I slept on the same side. But with the new addition to our family we've had to switch things up. Little man will be sleeping in the Pack n' Play in our room for a bit before switching over to crib sleeping full time. We will be putting him in the crib for naps starting from day one to get him used to being in it, though.

Our room is on the smaller size and with the way we had it set up, we knew we would have to do a bit of rearranging to get the PnP to fit. Basically all we had to do was move the bed and night stands further from the wall to make room for it. It's now a little tighter to get to the bathroom, but not that big of a deal. I used to sleep on the bathroom side, but since I'll be the one waking up with him for late night feedings it makes more sense for me to sleep on the side closest to the PnP.

We also had to buy a lamp for the night stand on my new side. I think the main floor lamp in our room will be too bright in the middle of the night so we picked up one with a 40 watt bulb at Wal-Mart that'll work just fine.

Here it is all set up!

This is the sheet we have, it fits the mattress perfectly and is super soft! And then there's the cat issue... We've had the PnP all set up for about five days now, and today was the first day she realized she could get in to it. Uggh. I don't think it'll really end up being a problem since I won't let Pearl sleep in our bedroom while he's sleeping with us (sad face!), but I did put it away so she doesn't get too comfortable with it before he gets here.

Slowly but surely we are getting through our to-do list. We actually added to it today... car seat safety class! It is offered free through the hospital so we thought it would be a good idea. Class is this Tuesday. I don't think we'll actually get the car seat installed, but they do want you to bring one to class. We also signed up for our hospital tour, which will be October 18th.

This baby shizz is getting so real! As of today there are only 55 more days until December 3rd!

Inside Bump

Here is my 31 week bump!

31 weeks 6 days

Since it's starting to get cooler out I think I'll do the rest of my bump pictures inside from now on. Once the nursery is complete I'll do them in there! This week I wanted to show off my nursery furniture-less living room. Ever since we got the furniture (back in April or May) we've had a nice little pile of stuff right in front of the bookshelf. We literally had no where else to put it, but I hated looking at it on the floor for over five months.

Right after we got rid of our extra furniture in the nursery we put together the crib and changing table. However, we still had the dresser waiting to be assembled. If you guys watched my 31 week vlog you'll know we got that put together this week, so the floor is clear again! The glider has also been completed, so our furniture building escapades are over :).

31 Week Vlog

Here is my most recent vlog.

Along with the usual stuff this week I show off some more baby buys and give everyone a sneak peak at the nursery. Once the nursery is complete (we've given ourselves a deadline of November 1st) I'll do a room tour. Oh, and I kind of hint at little man's name!!

We've been pretty set on his first name for a while now. His middle name? That's a totally different story. I think we currently have three in the running. Two are similar in style and would compliment his first name nicely. While the third is a bit off the wall and probably wouldn't be a name anyone would ever guess we would use, but it does hold some significance to us. I dunno... none of the middle name choices are really jumping out at me as the one. Naming a kid is hard!

I'm hoping to check a few things off my to do list today. We already checked off one this morning. It's not baby related, but I had wanted to hang up some different pictures in our dining room. Check! I'll post updated pictures on my other blog soon.

Okay, time to stop procrastinating and see what else I can't accomplish today!

Have you guys ever watched this Saturday Night Live sketch? It's one of my all time favorites. Ant DVR'd the Best of Steve Martin SNL special and of course the King Tut sketch was on it. When I was in 5th grade we spent a good month or so learning about ancient Egypt. One day my teacher brought in a tape of this particular SNL sketch. Of course my class loved the sketch and made our teacher let us watch it no less than five times that day!

5th grade was my favorite year of school eva. My teacher, Mrs. Rquibi, was amazing. During our ice age unit she transformed our classroom in to a cave where we carved tools out of soap and painted cave drawings on little bits of plaster. We also teamed up with another class to do The Dig. For The Dig each class had to come up with a civilization and create a history, language and artifacts. We then had to break all our artifacts and buried everything in a little plot on the playground. Then we got to dig up the other class's stuff and had to try and figure out what their civilization was. It was so fun!

Ohhhh to be in 5th grade again! I don't have a copy of my 5th grade class photo (Too bad, it was pretty awesome! I wore a shirt that Clarissa Explains It All also wore!), so here is my 4th grade picture.

OMG that dress! More specificially... that collar!

Next Month...

We will be meeting our son! I'd say at this point we have about a .001% chance of waiting until December. I think it's fair to say we're both freaking out a bit :). Here is my 30 week picture.

30 weeks 6 days
Maybe if I say that I love looking at the semi truck it'll leave? Reverse psychology, people! And now lets talk about how huge I am this week. I'm not just talking about my baby bump either, I'm definitely starting to look puffier in the face, but fortunately my hands and feet haven't swollen yet.

Oh, and we set a goal to have the nursery completely finished by November 1st. I think we can do it, but we will need to work hard to get it it all done.

Here's a baby buys video I made yesterday.

Have a great weekend!
